I have the original and the writing is very dark. I gave it to my daughter. I wanted another but this writing is so pale and looks just like a ''copy''. They are very nice and allowed me to return it.
This something that all those that are trying to study the Word should read. This also would help guide people throughout their daily lives. Be it before work, during work, on the way home. Or even when you get home. This also will try to put your walk in perspective. That encouragement that you might not get from anyone but from the reading the Word and from this book. Just as though the Lord Pour God is talking to you through Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Enjoy your time of reading, cut the TV off the computers and that music. Read aloud get it in your spirit it is all good. " Father God Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit" we Love You.
I have an older version of this book and it is totally falling apart from daily/yearly use. The writings within are part of my daily stillness and meditation. I don't want to know what it's like to be without it. I recommend it to everyone no matter what your age or stage in life.
This is a poor printing of this book. The print is very light and some of the text is missing. I know this because I have a copy of this book that I've had for years and had to get another because it just wore out from use. I noticed that some of the text seemed to be missing and checked this book against my older one and saw that lines and lines of valuable text are missing. Please don't short change yourself and buy this book unless its from a more reliable seller.
I have read it five times and it always touches me and draw closer to the Lord. I have given away 100's of copies. A few people say it is occult like. I can't agree, while a few pages don't quite connect for me....96% of this book moves me. There are always some who don't understand something and they start labeling it negative, just like the Pharisees did. If your heart open to the leading of Jeus Christ, you will be moved.
This book was suggested to me by a friend. When I investigated on the website, I found that there was an "original" version (as written in the 1930's) and there was an "updated" version (edited in the 1990's?) I opted for the original version, and yes there are some difficulties in the syntax and grammar, but the essential spiritual message still comes through. I bought the version, thinking it would be easy to look at the daily reading every morning; but I don't always pick up my until the afternoon or evening. So I read them as I can. The readings are food for thought!
I love the simplicity of this devotional book. It has no fanfare, but it speaks. I wanted to read what lead up to Sarah Young and the eventual writing of "Jesus Calling." There is an open tone to this book. One can picture the "two listeners" sitting in their humble abode, praying, seeking, and actively listening in their relationship with God. When we get discouraged in our spiritual walk, a book like this will encourage to draw close to God, and He will draw close to you.
